A new iPhone app in Japan gives users the opportunity to send smells via text messages.
The product called Chat Perf is an iPhone attachment, made of an atomizer and smell tank that fit into the iPhone’s dock port.
The only set-back? According to RocketNews24, you don’t actually get to choose the smells. From the report released, it appears you need to download an app and press “send,” but the device will only release whichever scent is in the Chat Perf on your friend’s phone. “American Horror Story”: Familiar Face Returning

Dylan McDermott will be joining the mental asylum where the story takes place, although it’s not yet known what role he’ll take on. Showrunner Ryan Murphy tweeted the news on Wednesday, saying he was excited to have McDermott back on set.

Developer Owen Goss has made some really interesting puzzle games for iPhone and iPad, including the excellent LandFormer. He also built an app called Baby’s Musical Hands that emphasizes simple interaction with the iPad. Clearly, he’s very interested in the iPad’s tactile possibilities. His latest game, Finger Tied, explores the idea even further by asking players to directly interact with the glass screen in several ways.
