You may be busy taking on Handsome Jack and his Hyperion goons in Borderlands 2 at the moment, but a new ad in the game’s digital strategy guide suggests that the Borderlands franchise will be getting a new mobile installment later on this month. Dubbed Borderlands Legends, gamers will take on the role of the original Borderlands characters – Brick, Roland, Mordecai, and Lillith – once more as they fend off wave after wave of enemies. Unfortunately, details on the game are still pretty slim, seeing as how Gearbox has yet to make an official announcement…
Sources say that Apple has been testing an update for its most recent iOS version, iOS 6, and will be releasing it within the next few weeks — not quite in time for tomorrow’s Apple event. The company is said to have been testing the iOS 6.0.1 update with carrier partners around the country and it will end up fixing a general list of bugs and issues for iPhone and iPad users.
The update may entail things such as a fix for the horizontal lines bug on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open, as well as a fix for the camera’s flash not going off when it’s supposed to…
Hands On: The Mosaic Photobook
- ReadWriteWeb.com
The touchscreen will not replace the book. Until some possible future when the two technologies are indistinguishable from each other, the tangible, sensuous, unpowered nature of the book will never give way to cold, glowing glass. Mosaic proved that once again when it was revealed on Monday.Mosaic is an iPhone app that lets you print dreamlike photo albums on demand. You choose up to 20 photos from your phone’s camera roll, arrange them in a virtual photobook in the Mosaic app, tap ‘Place Order,’ and the real book arrives on your doorstep in days…
Light up Greenwave Reality’s smart bulbs with your iPhone
- The Unofficial Apple Weblog
Here’s how it goes: I say, “It feels like we’re living in the future,” and you all yell, “So where are the jetpacks?” There are plenty of missing pieces from the Jetsons-style view of the future, but at least the smart home — controllable, reactive, energy-efficient and easy to use — is on its way.
One of the companies trying to push that vision forward is lighting vendor Greenwave Reality [their site is a little overwhelmed right now]. Founded by veterans of Cisco’s consumer networking business, Greenwave has spent the past few years developing products intended for distribution by European utilities, and it’s now rolling out its Connected Lighting Solution for homeowners in the EU with certification for the US market as well…
iOS 6.0.1 will first and foremost fix a glitch that has plagued iPhone 5 users since its launch. An Apple thread exploded with users complaining that their phones were displaying a “weird screen glitch” when the keyboard was loaded and they were inputting their iTunes password…

- The Unofficial Apple Weblog
Samsung and Apple are waging a legal battle in courts all over the world. Though the decisions in the US, UK and Germany garner most of the attention, other cases in other jurisdictions are also making their ways through their court systems. In Japan, two rulings favorable to Apple were handed down in September and October, according to a report from the Asahi Shimbun.
In these cases, the Tokyo court said Apple’s Japanese unit did not infringe Samsung’s patents and denied the Korean manufacturer’s request to ban the iPhone in Japan…
Samsung suffers setback against Apple in Tokyo court
- SlashGear.com
Apple and Samsung‘s patent battle continues to rage all around the world, with one company picking up wins here and another coming out on top there. Today, we can chalk one up for Apple, as a Tokyo court has declared that the iPhone is not infringing on a pair of Samsung-held patents. The Asahi Shimbun reported the news this weekend, saying that two different verdicts have been handed down – one in September, and one earlier this month.
There are two separate patents at the center of this debate, both owned by Samsung in Japan…
Cupertino, We Have A Problem
- ReadWriteWeb.com
At least it would if it worked. And it doesn’t. My iCloud account is so screwed up, not even Apple knows what to do, I doubt I’ll ever trust it again.
