Smartphones are awesome. They keep us connected to friends, help with directions and give us access to the Internet’s infinite wonders. But how awesome is too awesome? And when does appreciation become addiction?
Consider this: 15% of respondents to a recent Gazelle.com survey said they’d go rather go without sex for a weekend than give up their iPhone for a few days. Four percent said they’ve actually used their iPhone during sex, and 65% said they couldn’t live without their trusty device. Forty percent of respondents said they’d rather go without bathing than without their iPhone…

Apple Should Reinstate Drone+ & Stop Censoring AppsI was hoping to wake up to different headlines this morning. Something along the line of “Apple Apologizes, Accepts Drone+ iPhone App” would have sufficed. Alas, last week’s news remains a stubborn reality: Apple thinks that an app highlighting publicly available data about war is “objectionable” and refuses to allow it into the App Store. LinkedIn Revamps Apps for Smartphones, iPads as Mobile Users Grow [PICS]

LinkedIn debuted new mobile features for its iPhone, Android and iPad apps on Wednesday.
The professional social network announced the changes in a blog post written by mobile product head Joff Redfern.
Android and iPhone users can now get notified in real-time when they accept invitations, and when someone views their profile or likes what they share, Redfern writes.

Tabu's Universal Mini Stand: A preview of a handy iPhone accessory

Tabu Design is a small design firm that takes the Kickstarter approach to raising funds for its product line. We took a look at their highly successful iPad Pouch project a couple of weeks ago; that project pulled in almost US$16,000 with an original funding goal of $5,000. Now the company is back with the Universal Mini Stand (or minü stand as it’s called on the box), a diminutive little iPhone stand and cable manager.

Tabu is targeting a price point of about $22 for a mixed pack of four stands, and needs $5,000 to start production…
